My vision of a loving educational space is a learning environment that cultivates moral responsibility, empathetic communication, collaboration, belonging and love.
In my work as an English Literature and Art educator, I am reminded of the importance of holding space for wondering, listening and engaging in difficult conversations. I imagine this space as embodying the three “R's: respect, representation and reimagination– affirming spaces that honor young people as bringing critical knowledge.
